"Forest Bathing" on the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve
Location: Registrants will be informed of location
Docent: Joanne Freemire
« Back to Docent WalksWe'll learn how a slow forest walk allows Mother Nature's gifts to return to us. We'll learn how we can benefit from noticing the sounds, sights, smells, tastes (maybe) , and how the flora feels to our touch. We'll allow our minds to wander. We'll enjoy the twists and turns of our Forest trails where each curve brings us into a new "room", filled with wonder. Our ears will enjoy the sounds of curious critters, our sense of smell will marvel at the intoxicating scent of yerba buena, our eyes will discover majestic soaring paptors, our sense of feeling will enhance the differences in our beautiful native flora. Remember to ask questions...point things out...share your observations with your new friends. When we return to the trailhead we'll learn about the joy of journaling-and how it enhances our walk while giving us a bit of saved history to be enjoyed.
Wear closed toe shoes and long pants to protect from trip points and poison oak. There are no toilet facilities on the Ranch-come prepared. The walk is open to all by reservation only. Children are very welcome, with adult supervision. No dogs please. Rain cancels the walk.
