Wabi sabi.  What does it look like? Where do we even start looking?

Is it the cute little weasel that lives near the bluff trail? Is it the flowers and seeds off the coyote brush? Is it the ground squirrel sentry perched on top of the brush lupin? Is it the coyote’s basket hat? Is it the very, very patient blue heron or great egret waiting for a vole or a snake to pop out of a hole? Is it an ancient Playaño kitchen, now being covered by a multicolor lichen blanket? Is it our kelp forest and seaweed that nurtures life on the shore - or a young harbor seal telling mom it’s hungry?

Whatever Wabi sabi is, whatever we find, this is a chance to discuss some of the details of life on the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve.

Binoculars recommended. Children are most welcome with adult supervision. Sorry, no dogs, please. There are no restrooms on the Ranch, so plan accordingly. Rain cancels.
