Learn how you can become your own personal forest guide from a California naturalist as you slowly walk along beautiful Fiscalini Ranch Preserve forest trails.  Notice brilliantly colored Fuchsia Flowering Gooseberry, the delicate flowers of Wild Strawberry, and the stimulating scent of minty Yerba Buena as you journey along twisting trails. Hear the calling voices of Red Shouldered Hawk parents as they teach their young the joys of flight...and don't you wish that you could join them!  Listen to the rustling sounds Black Tail Deer make as they forage among the towering Monterey Pines and Coastal Oaks.  Was that a fox crossing our path?  What makes that Grey Squirrel so chatty?  In the wet of rolled back logs search for wonderful lungless Ensatinas and Slender Black Salamanders.  Did our Native American forebears relish the coming of summer to the Ranch, as we do?  Learn about human life on our Ranch Preserve dating back over 9000 years...how they lived, what they ate, and which plants provided their necessary natural medications.(no foraging please!)  All of this while enjoying the summer bounty of our Fiscalini Ranch Forest Preserve...we'll see you out there!

This walk is approximately 2 1/2 miles with little elevation gain and is free and open to the public. Chilrden are welcome with adult supervision. No dogs please. Please be aware that there are no restroom facilities on the Ranch and plan accordingly! Rain cancels.
