Lighter winds and less fog have ushered in some SUPER DAYS to walk the Fiscalini Ranch bluff. Fingers of the warmer California current are pushing their way into the coast. They are bringing slightly warmer waters along with krill, squid, bait fish, and jellies. And, of course, following this bounty are the larger fish, whales, birds, and marine mammals.

In the grasslands above, the Spring blooms have given way to the more drought tolerant seaside daisies, gum plant, sandasters, and woolly sunflowers. This is home to insects, reptiles, grassland birds, raptors, rabbits, moles, voles, ground squirrels, skunks, weasels, deer, ….

Let’s see what we can see.

This short leisurely stroll is free and open to the public. Children are welcome with adult supervision. No dogs please. Please be aware that there are no restroom facilities on the Ranch and plan accordingly. Rain cancels.
