What are the strange organisms hanging from, and attaching to, almost anything green? Gaze into the spreading branches while you marvel at the hanging wispy filaments, colorful sculpted growths, and, seemingly spray painted shades covering the bark of our oaks. What are these things? Friend or foe to our beautiful forest flora? Test your naturalist guide's knowledge by asking questions. Does that stuff harm our native pines? How does it influence our lives...or does it at all? What has created these varied and fascinating growths. And while you continue to search, also watch for critters who call the Fiscalini Ranch home. From curious mule deer, to chattering grey squirrels, to the keening of red shouldered hawks...all paying attention to our wanderings. Are there mountain lions, foxes, an occasional black bear? You bet there are! And it's your job to discover the variety of fauna and flora that populates Cambria's beautiful forests.
This leisurely stroll is free and open to the public. Children are welcome with adult supervision. No dogs please. Please be aware that there are no restroom facilities on the Ranch and plan accordingly. Rain cancels.
