Annual Cambria Wildflower Show

Annual Cambria Wildflower Show

Location: Veterans Memorial Hall; 1000 Main St, Cambria

Celebrate spring on the Central Coast at the 18th annual Cambria Wildflower Show — a vibrant weekend where science, beauty, and local passion for nature come together.

This beloved community event takes place at Veterans Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 25 (12–5 pm) and Sunday, April 26 (10 am–4 pm) in the charming coastal town of Cambria.

Step inside and discover a dazzling display of more than 500 species of wild plants, carefully organized by botanical family and labeled with both their common and scientific names. It’s part science exhibit, part living art gallery—where bold colors, delicate petals, and fascinating forms steal the show.

Every specimen is freshly gathered by trained volunteer collectors who have special permits to responsibly harvest plants from across the region—from the Monterey County line south to the Morro Bay Estuary and inland to the peaks of the Santa Lucia Mountains. Their mission: showcase as many as possible of the 840 native wild plants that thrive in this remarkable coastal landscape.

Once the plants arrive at the hall, another team transforms them into a stunning exhibit using hundreds of antique and unusual glass bottles and vases, a visual treat that adds vintage charm to the natural display.

Throughout the weekend, knowledgeable plant experts will be on hand to answer questions about edible, medicinal, rare, invasive, and poisonous plants featured in the exhibit. Visitors will also receive a curated list of recommended field guides and books to continue their wildflower journey.

Take a break at the Wildflower Café for snacks and drinks, and browse nature-inspired items offered by Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve and the San Luis Obispo Chapter of the California Native Plant Society — perfect for plant lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Behind the scenes, this beautiful event represents more than 800 hours of volunteer work, all dedicated to sharing the wonder of the region’s native flora and inspiring appreciation for the natural world.
