Docent: Frank Widmann

A look at constellations and major points of reference, including stars and planets. Understand basic celestial movements such as the Earth's rotation, the orbit of the Moon, the orbit of the Earth, the orbit of the Solar System around the center of the galaxy, and the motion of the Milky Way.

Learn to adapt to the dark, find distant objects with the naked eye and observe through your own binoculars.  Enjoy chance encounters with interesting night creatures. The level of difficulty for this walk is easy with little elevation change over less than 1 mile distance. Bring binoculars if desired.  No dogs, please.  COVID protocols will be observed.
