Family Walk in Fiscalini Ranch Preserve Forest (Friday walk, Thanksgiving weekend)

Bring the children and spend a part of your morning enjoying a docent led family walk in the forest of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. This walk is designed for children age 7 and older but younger children are welcome to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

During the walk, the docent will show participants how to use the Seek app on their smart phone or tablet as they enjoy learning the names of plants and animals.  Children will also learn how they can earn species and challenge badges while identifying organisms with Seek. The app, Seek by iNaturalist, has no ads, requires no registration, and is completely free to use.

On this Native American Heritage Day, the walk will include a brief stop at a location once used by the indigenous people of the area.  During the walk we will acknowledge how this area now called Cambria was cared for and enjoyed for 1,000s of years before the first Spaniards arrived.

The walk will be under two miles with very little elevation change. No dogs please; rain cancels event.
